Profile

Support scientist in GIS and ecosystem modelling

I am a member of the Ecology Department and have over 15 years experience in studying abundance, distribution and population dynamics of keystone inshore marine species and communities, particularly those with fisheries or commercial relevance. I have been involved with the Ecopath ecosystem modelling and have contributed to the development of two ecosystem models for the west coast of Scotland.  More on modelling at the Institute...

I am experienced in carrying out Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEA). More on the People and the Sea Research Theme...

I have been involved in teaching on the BSc (Hons) Marine Science programme for six years and am currently module leader for first year Principles of Biology. I am also involved in the management of the programme and act as first year leader.
