Professor of Marine Biogeochemisty

Research interests

  • Development and application of in situ lander technology for studying microbial ecology and biogeochemistry
  • Benthic biogeochemistry and solute exchange, carbon mineralization, photosynthesis, bioturbation, bioirrigtaion
  • Development and application of microsensors and imaging techniques in microbial ecology and biogeochemistry
  • Polar biology, climate changes, local–regional and global element cycling, sea-ice microbiology
