Hi, my name is Helen. I am not a marine scientist but work at SAMS as the Outreach Officer. I have been finding it really fascinating learning about the different jobs that my marine science colleagues do, and how they got to where they are. Here are some of the people I talked to. Marine science offers some fantastic jobs for people with really quite different backgrounds. You don't have to have a PhD to work in marine science, you could have other skills, like being practical or a great business person.
