Additional opportunities
Undergraduates at the Scottish Marine Institute may get opportunities to gather experience and to forge valuable research contacts through voluntary or occasionally funded activities within or made available by the institute:
- Nuffield bursaries for undergraduates (funded for several weeks during the summer break)
- SAMS bursaries for geochemistry and physical oceanography
- Work experience by volunteering to support specific research projects
- Support work during scientific expeditions such as the Ellett Line cruise
